ABSTRACT
Objectives – Describing impact and features of Guided Bone Regeneration (GBR) complications, illustrating clinical management of intra- and post-operatory complications and giving guidelines to reduce operative risks.
Materials and methods – Description of the GBR complications classification and their therapeutical options. Finally three clinical cases with GBR complications.
Results and conclusions – Following clinical protocols reduces complications impact and increases bone augmentation predictability. GBR protocols including clinical procedures, postoperative cares and healing time have been assessed with non-resorbable membranes. Non-resorbable membranes are widespreading due to their proven efficiency and limiting resorbable membranes only to specific cases.
